Met Gala 2024 Guest List- Who Was Not On Theme?
Met Gala 2024 has not been the most successful season solely on theme. The theme for the celebrities on the Red Carpet was “Garden of Times” which was based on JG Ballard’s 1962 short tale. The story follows Count Axel and his wife, the Countess, who reside in a stunning villa with a stunning garden view. Furious crowds surround the mansion, moving closer. The Count must fetch a flower from his garden to reverse time and save himself. The constant plucking depletes the garden, and a crowd forms around the two. The story depicts fleeting beauty, fitting the gala’s subject of fragile antiques at the Sleeping Beauty- Reawakening Fashion exhibit, which were once emblems of great beauty but can now wither with a touch. Some celebrities on the Met Gala 2024 Guest List dressed but did not impress the audience all too well. Let’s take a look at who:

We already took a look at what Chris Hemsworth wore- an off-white Tom Ford suit, which certainly had him looking smokes, but did nothing to contribute to the theme of the gala or the dress code for the ramp. I’d pass.

Matt Damon
Men and Met Gala haven’t exactly been a good couple, and this year had its instances of good-looking men in mere good-looking tuxedos far away from the theme. Matt Damon was no different; he put on a tux, persevered for a couple of minutes and put on a bowtie, and came straight to the Gala. Pass.

Zoe Saldaña
A good number of celebrities on the Met Gala 2024 Guest List wore Chloe’s designed dresses- a group of 5 in fact- Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller, Emma Mackey, Sienna Miller and Chemena Kamali, and I liked a smack zero out of the five. The girls did look ethereal in their outfits with long, supple hair (not Gerwig, but her locks are fabulous too), but the dresses were more boho than they were in “The Garden of Times”. No, thank you.

Kendall Jenner
Not like I would expect Kylie Jenner to do something bold anymore, creatively speaking; this dress did nothing for the theme. She did look cute in the colour and the design of the dress, but I would rather see them at an Oscar. The Old Hollywood Look suited her well though. Still a pass.
